Families play an integral role in our school
The school has a wonderful philosophy and culture. Teachers are warm, welcoming and exceptionally supportive.
- Coop parent, 2022
From its founding in 1976, the Sharon Cooperative School has always viewed families as partners who play a critical role in the success of their child and the success of the program. While the Sharon Coop no longer depends on parent volunteers for staffing our classrooms, we remain steeped in the cooperative tradition and provide many opportunities for family engagement. Additionally, our parent run Board of Directors plays a pivotal role in establishing school policies, managing its finances and fulfilling the vision of the school's founders to encourage parents to be active participants in their children's preschool years.
Family Goals at the Sharon Coop
- To partner with families to realize each child’s potential and promote healthy parenting skills.
- To empower parents to become an integral part of the educational process; their involvement is actively encouraged and welcomed.
- To cultivate an organic network of families, creating a community linked by friendship, respect and children through participation and family events.
